WHAT I HATE ABOUT CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year. I can't dispute that there's a greater sense of joy around this time, hearing parang music on the radio...wait thats all that excites me? wow -_-

Christmas is NOT an excuse to go bankrupt. Why on earth do I need new curtains? What is wrong with the ones from last 3, 4, 5 years?!?! And why must they be so damn fancy!?! -_- 

People go crazyyy buying things! Quite frankly, I'd paint my house in August if I can, Christmas time pretty much would just equal- free time to do it. 

Prices DO NOT "go down" -_-. I checked a catalogue from Courts or Standards or whatever months ago, and compared the items on "sale" with those then...SAME PRICE!! In fact, this jus tmight be when prices hike up, because the demand for every single thing increases. I do NOT need to spend over 1000 dollars on groceries alone dammit! >.< 

Christmas is NOT an excuse to drink alcohol excessively!! It is NOT an excuse to go out and lime and "have a good time" dousing down everything that comes your way. Sure fruit cake is great but geez, must you overdo the alcohol?

Who on earth is santa claus? Whyyyyyyyyyyyy do parents lie to their children. It's bribery, it's a lie and its damn foolish! it's also very idolatrous, seeing that children worship Santa's feet, hoping to get something for Christmas. And quite frankly, it's pretty eurocentric too, seeing that ya know, we don't have chimneys in the Caribbean -_- Santa u racist or summ? U discriminatory? *coas*

Quite likely, Jesus was NOT even born on December 25th and nowhere in the Bible do people really celebrate birthdays anyway, except for 3 occasions where bad things all happened (Google it, or read yo Bible yo) All in all, though I don't feel inclined to get in this "spirit" ie...EXCESS! I celebrate the fact that ONE man, Jesus Christ, loves me, and us all, sooooooooo much, that He'd die for me, to reconcile my relationship with God, paving the way for my eternity! :)

And what have we become, glutton, lazy and easily swayed? What is xmas? I thought the  Word was Christmas? I thought the reason for the season was CHRIST! WHO IS X??!?!? Did X come to save my life?

Sooooo, why not choose a time to celebrate this fact then- ie christmas season? uhm WHY NOT DO IT ALLLLLLLLLL THE TIME? Does the Lord say, wellllllllllll Imma help you today, Imma hear your prayer today, I'll comfort you and be there for you today, but tomorrow I rell cyah handle u nah, or next week neither, matter of fact, I'm booked through February, so whenever ah get de chance to help yuh ah go do it? uhh NO! So why, for this ONE time, do we get so focused on "THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT" 

What Spirit? hanging reindeer and excess lights outside my house does NOT make me feel the "spirit"

Having a tree up, does NOT make me feel the "spirit"

Drinking alcohol, liming, paranging does NOT make me feel the "spirit" 

Cleaning and painting does NOT make me feel the spirit.

And quite frankly Im sick and TIRED or hearing ppl say "I doh feel the Christmas spirit" if yuh buying ting, eating ting, drinking ting, paranging and ting, then yuh in the spirit alright! But which one. 

I rather feel the Holy Spirit. I'd rather have a peaceful Christmas, than a loud, festive Christmas.

I rather have peace within myself for a lifetime, than spend one day in glutton excessive, pointless celebration to feel temporary happiness. Cuz guess what people..drink away your problems today, they are still there in the morning! 

I rather lend a helping hand to those in need, than sit back and wait for a bunch of gifts to be given to me. Naively before, Id wish for gifts. But the thing is, if the Lord doesn't do anything else for me, He's already done enough. And that's the greatest gift of all.

So have a blessed, holy Christmas. And perhaps, before going outside to galavant and play, take some more time to pray. Always remember the reason, not just for a season, for always.
